Italian brand
CONIMATTA has been on our radar for a while now, thanks to its beautifully simple silk pieces in all their evocative, hand-painted glory (ahem, bugs, whiskers, and purposeful ?stains"). While those garments are definitely worthy of their own shout-out, it?s CONIMATTA?s bookmarks that have really stolen our attention. Yes, you read that correctly.
The
Medusa bookmark (bronze/sage/black tassel)?which conveniently doubles as a necklace?is reminiscent of really nice window coverings; the
Anemone bookmark mixes bright and muted colors to create a piece that is reminiscent of something you had in primary school, but decidedly next-level; and the
Posidonia bookmark may be inspired by the sea, but it looks more like a cross between a cleaning brush and a high-end fetish object.
$24+ seems a steep price to pay for a bookmark, but we figure you might be more inclined to open up a for-pleasure tome when you?re marking your process with a little handmade help from Milan. More like coolly conceptual art pieces, CONIMATTA?s bookmarks might be enough to get e-reader enthusiasts to once again reach for those old-fashioned paper book things.
