Get a Taste of Tokyo at Toast & T Pop-Up

Think you're a foodie? Well put that moniker to the test at the Mr. Toast pop-up store at Royal/T, "Toast & T" that runs through the month of February. Featuring Mr. Toast and his posse of foodie friends, the retail "menu" will feature original Mr. Toast paintings, plush toys, pins, and books in the Japanese Kawaii (cute) style. There will also be a surprise artwork installation by Mr. Toast creator and L.A. native Dan Goodsell. One of the aims of the venture is to make art accessible for everyone by offering affordable works of art for purchase to jump start novice collectors' collections. If this seems up your alley, head to the opening party—aptly titled "A Toast for Mr Toast"—on Wednesday, February 2 from 6-8 p.m. A Japanese maid cafe will be open and serving a full menu in addition to Mr. Toast-inspired goodies like Pressed Toast Sandwiches and a "Japanese 75" cocktail made of Soju, Champagne, Lemon Juice, and Simple Syrup. It's the next best thing to going to Tokyo!
